Hong Kong stocks lose 25,000 in afternoon: SMIC falls over 6%

Hong Kong Commercial News: Hong Kong stocks fell below the 25,000 mark in the afternoon, with the index at a low of 24,929.94, down 323.46 points.

The Tech Index was at 4,878 points, down 1.94%; the H-Share Index was at 8,433 points, down 0.8%.

AIA (01299) was at HK$73.95, down 3.585%. HSBC Holdings (00005) was at HK$142.2, down 2.869%.

SMIC (00981) was down 6.32% at HK$76.35. (SY)
